The congregation is blessed to have three college scholarships available for full-time college students who are participating members of the congregation. They are:
• The Good Shepherd College Scholarship provides tuition assistance for full-time students
enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education.
• The Leonard and Ellen Garlick Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to students
who are pursuing education beyond the high school level at Graceland University.
• The Kristin Alana Harder Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to students who
are pursuing education beyond the high school level and preferably at a school other than
Graceland University. Studies in music and/or a foreign language are preferred.
Criteria for each scholarship varies. Applicants are to choose which scholarship applies to their
situation. In all cases applicants are to demonstrate both attendance and participation in the
congregation via “Attendance Record” and “Service Record” and provide a written testimony
on God’s Workings, Encouragement, or Motivation in Your life.
Scholarships up to $1,000 are granted based on the available funds in 2024 and are not self-
renewing. A new application must be completed on an annual basis for consideration.
Current students who received awards last year must re-apply for the 2024-2025 school year.
To be eligible for a scholarship, applications must be received by Sunday, April 28, 2024.
